The Happiest Halloween

The weekend prior to Halloween I decided to take an impromptu trip to Disney. I had all of these ideas and posts planned out, but landing and finding my transportation put me behind schedule to where I ended up jogging (and missing) my dining reservation. On my first day I hung out at Epcot for the food and wine festival. I was so full from breakfast (Garden Grill) that I didn’t really eat much of the day, but still scoped out all of the eats. I ended up settling on the Feijoadas at Brazil and they did not disappoint. The highlight of the evening was the Eat the Beat concert with Hanson. I regret that I didn’t get more videos or watch their first concert (I had seating to the second) because the set list is different for each show. I ended the evening at Magic Kingdom, while the fireworks show was going on. This was completely overwhelming, but my time management was horrible all day.

Day 2 was Magic Kingdom/Mickey Not so Scary Halloween Party. The crowds were extremly LOW. So low that I was able to ride Tron back to back without waiting. After many rides it was time to prepare for the Halloween party. I didn’t want to take the trek back to the hotel and change, so I rented a locker and packed my costume in a backpack. *note, the lockers need a physical card to charge. Luckily the merchandise stand next to them sold the locker rentals as well. (it’s not advertised, so you won’t automatically know). My costume was a cheap spin on the Mad Hatter. The Halloween party was fantastic, but you definitely have to choose your evening. The crowds are enjoyable, but if you are seeing characters and trying to make the parades, there’s not much time for anything else… of course I demanded a prime parade spot.

Day 3 was a short day to Hollywood Studios. My goal for the day was to ride Rockin Rollercoaster (my favorite) 3 or 4 times and then touch on Tower of Terror and hopefully Lightning Lane Slinky Dog Dash. Those plans were shot too when Rockin Rollercoaster broke down before my second ride. The cast handed out Lightining Lanes, but it wouldn’t apply to Slinky Dog and Tower of Terror had no wait. I inteded to apply it back to Rockin Rollercoaster once the ride was repaired, but by that time the only available slot was well after I needed to head to the airport.
